Nice that you did it by yourself! I'm just collecting information for my future swap. Currently have a very nice 6cyl swap setup that is in my track car, but I'll upgrade to an s54 or euro S50B30 in the near future.

Well. I did all by myself, what im telling you is take your time, i reused a lot of the stock wiring since im using the z3m s54 cluster. I needed some can bus wires from the dme to the cluster, i reused the ones from the engine temp. Reuse your engine mounting brackets. A good tip on using stock e46 m3 flywheel and pressure plate, use a 330i clutch disc. Any more info you might need let me know

I meant to ask why you stayed with the Getrag 240 transmission? They are light duty. Also how did you fit a S54 clutch in it? I had trouble fitting a M52 clutch in mine.

Im using the getrag 240 because it is what i have. No issues at all. Other thing is i dont do burnouts. Dont get me wrong i drive it like i stole it from time to time but i take care of it. I reused the starter since the flywheel share the same teeth pattern as the stock ti's transmission. Im using the e46 m3 flywheel and pressure plate BUT im using a 330i e46 clutch disc. The input shaft on the getrag 240 is smaller than the 6speed e46 gearbox. It just fit. I had to modify the slave push rod. Make it a few mm smaller but other than that is straight foward.

Excellent! Did you rebuild or modify the getrag in any way? How sticky are your tires and what size.
