Yummy That's all I have for now! so far, I love the thing! Also getting decent at driving stick.. I haven't stalled it since 3 days ago.. I'd say that's pretty decent ) Hills are still my worst enemy though... Brrr... They scare the crap out of me EDIT: Oh by the way, I just realized I barely took any good pics of the front and stuff... Reason was there were these plants that I couldn't step on, and I couldn't go back far enough to take good pics. Also, there was weird man outside that kept staring at me O_o I didn't feel comfortable staying out too long. HAHA! It definitly helps tho! Its been a week so far, and I thought I was getting good at driving stick... until when I was driving home from school today and I completely stalled it... -.- looks like I still need to get better :/ Anyways, I find it difficult to start from a stand. Lets say there's a red light, and I stop. When the light turns green, I have to ease off the clutch and accelerate, and by the time I slowly take off, the car behind me is getting annoyed by how slow I'm going :/ and then, when I'm in first gear, I shift to second, and all of that takes me so long to do! I don't know if it's just practice that'll make this go away, but that's what's really been bugging me lately | | | 09-15-2010, 11:32 PM | #38 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I was pretty slow too when I first started, try just giving it a little more gas, it's not good for the clutch but that's the problem with learning every now and then I still stall, it's embarrassing when a lot of people see you do it but no one's perfect | | | 09-15-2010, 11:43 PM | #39 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | At first I thought you were 12 years old Amish or something, being in PA. Guess you still could be since no pics of you. Pretty cool you bought it before knowing how to drive it! PA has some serious hills but don't worry too much about damaging the car. It only has 138tq and a new clutch- it would take a LOT of stalls to fry it. Just don't do this: http://youtu.be/bM3So0U1BMQ __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 09-20-2010, 04:50 AM | #40 | Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Montreal Posts: 63 | One of the best ways to really learn how to drive stick is to take motorcycle lessons. Most important lesson learned: when downshifting, like 4rd to 3rd tap the gas while the clutch is pressed, it will bring the revs up and gradually match the resistance before the clutch fully engages. When I take a fast turn, I tap it all the way down till it hits the metal. The clutch/trany will also last longer. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
