Default ignition cylinder?

I parked my car to go to class tried to turn my car off and it wouldn't...played with it for a few minutes and decided to just stall and lock my car.

After class I had a few buddies push start it so I'm home...

My questions isn't how to replace my ignition cylinder (hopefully that's the right thing to do)

I want a start button for my car I'll do it if it's easier/cheaper then replacing the cylinder assuming it's the right thing to do...
