Default woofer cooker

does anyone know where I can download the song "woofer cooker" from the Boston Acoustics test CD? I've checked Limewire and they don't have it, I'd rather not record it off this youtube video cuz I'll lose all the quality

I have that, it's about 9MB, so it's a no-go through e-mail unless you have gmail or some such...

Have you ever tried "Rapidshare"?

Go here http://rapidshare.com/ , upload the file. When you are done uploading, you get a link to download the same file, which you can send to tifreak (Pauly), who can then download the file. (Costs nothing, don't sign up for their premium user account...)

Yeah, I know RS, I just hate having to download from them when multiple files are involved, but uploading one is ok, so here you go: http://rapidshare.com/files/10916148...fers_.mp3.html

sweet thanks does anyone know about audio equipment? I was wondering if it was possible to blow a 1500w RMS sub with a 480w amp, I'm pretty sure I can't but I just want to be sure

IIRC, since the sub is underpowered and you try to crank it past a certain level the distortion can mess it up. That I think is why I have heard that it is good to have an amp that is a bit higher than the speakers capability than to have an amp that is too weak...

I know i have blown subs up by hooking them up to a mono amp and bridging them. But only the one that's bridged will blow.

I don't want to blow the sub, that's why I was asking, I had a friend who ran the exact same sub that I have with a 300w amp, I'm not sure if he had any problems, I guess I'll have to ask him

I guess your good, I have a small alpine bumping both my Alpine and mtx subs.

Edit:
If your talking about that 12" type R then your good. It'll take more than that amp to blow a type R up.

FWIW, typically, it's not overpowering that blows a sub, it's clipping AKA distortion in the signal from the amp. This can be caused by many things, including not setting the gains properly, having the bass boost up, ect.

If you have you setup correct, there is NO way the sub will blow on <480 watts (probably max, not RMS). Don't know your equipment though.

Oh, and I have yet to see any proof that underpowering a sub does anything but not maximize it's potential. Read many arguments about underpowering a speaker damages it, I have never seen someone actually prove it does anything. Hell, I know a lot of guys leave their sub sitting on a test tone with like 8 watts to it just to break in the voice coils.

yup, just checked the specs of the sub on crutchfield, 1,500w is the max not the RMS, the RMS is 200-500w, since my amp is 480w I should be good
