Hi everyone - Just got a 318ti

I just purchased a 1996 318ti last week. This is my first BMW and I bought it off of Craig s List for 2250. I'm excited to get to work on it as there some minor things that need to be fixed. I will get some photos on here ASAP, I want to make sure to get my "before" photos. The guy who had it before began to make modifications to it and I want to figure out what has been changed... some things I'm going to keep, others are going to go...

Personally, I'm a grad student and a freelance photographer. I'm married to a great woman(who told me I had to buy the ti), and I have two daughters who like's daddy's race car(aftermarket exhaust is pretty loud)...

So again to all, nice to meet you and I'm glad to be part of the community...

Sounds like you picked it up for a good price...how many miles? Auto or manual trans?

in the exhaust sub-forum there's a thread going over all the different aftermarket exhausts made for the ti, might give you an idea of what you'd want to replace it with if you weren't going back to stock

I will get pictures tomorrow for sure... maybe I can get some help on what has been done already... The car has 119K on it and it is a 5 speed... It's black with dark tint that I probably won't keep as there are a couple small wrinkles and I can't stand bad tint.... It came with horrible hubs on it and I happen to find a guy who had stock 15" wheels he pulled off of his 328 and I got them with tires for $150... Those are going on first, then new shift knob, boot(it's ripped), fog lights, tail lights and headlights. Oh yeah, and that loud exhaust needs to be either tamed with silencer or replaced... and I need a real cup holder... any recommendations..? Overall the idea was to drop another grand or two over the next month getting it where I want it. Oh yeah, does anyone have a good mod for an antenna, mine is broken off...

BTW, I'm getting my MBA and am doing research on risk management...
