Help with RomRaider tuning

Hi all, brand new to the forum, I have a dead 1996 318ti (M5.2, m44b19) and all signs point to an EWS failure, and due to my financial situation, I'd prefer to just delete it myself.

I've gotten my file off the car and have RomRaider installed, and I've already hit a roadblock; when I try to load the image, it says "ECU definition file missing or moved. Please correct the ECU Definition Manager listing." and it's got a file path it wants me to put ecu_defs.xml

I've tried trusty old google, and I kinda tried poking around the RomRaider forum but I'm definitely in over my head for this stuff. I'd like to reiterate that this is pretty much my only option, I barely was able to get that K+D CAN cable and my copy of M5.2 quickflash.

If anyone's got any pointers, perhaps Mr. Barrie from Midnight Tuning everyone on this forum seems to know, I'd appreciate it. Also if you are Barrie, I wanted to check out the site, but it keeps redirecting me to random websites that I assume are ads to keep the site up, but those very ads prevent me from even accessing it.

P.S. I'm pretty sure one of the previous owners was quite the site supporter, my car has a few 318ti.org stickers on it.

Try the ECU Defs posted on GitHub there. They don't seem to work on the full files, but they do on the partials that dude posted. Let me know if you have any luck.
