Default Odometer Light Help!

The numbers on the odometer are barely visible…I can only see them right before I start the engine and only a few seconds after that (when the service interval lights are still on). It seems that the bulb behind the area where the numbers actually appear has burned out.

Am I correct in assuming that it is indeed a bulb that needs to be replaced, or has the whole assembly gone bad? Again, the numbers are perfectly visible when the service interval indicator lights are on, so it doesn’t seem like it’s the LED lights in the number display itself that’s gone bad, although I’m just assuming that at this point.

Unfortunately, I need to fix this in order for the car to pass state inspection. Any words of advice?

Do you know that the headlight switch controls the brightness of the interior lights on the dash etc. Turn the knob clockwise and it should brighten up. If it does not then the bulbs needt o be replaced.

Yeah, that's the first thing I tried. It works perfectly on all the other lights in the cluster but sadly, no dice on the odometer light. It's good to know that it's only a bulb though. I do appreciate the tip, though!

Now I just have to worry about all the other things on the damn inspection checklist.
