Default AC Problems...

Hey guys, hope somebody might have an easy fix for me, I live in phoenix and its already getting up towards 100! Well i havent had to really turn on the AC in a while because it hasnt really been all that hot out, so i worked the last time i turned it on, and i went to turn it on today and i got a face full of hot air. The system has pressure it so i knwo theres somethign in there and its not leaking.and all the ac fuses are good. The compressor just doesnt turn when the ac is turned on. could it just be a switch somehwere in system? or does it sound like a bad compressor? if somebody could help me out it would be awesome! Thanks guys!
