I really hate the fact that aftermarket radios do not come in amber anymore, and that most of them have either a blue or a red illumination to them. I was thinking that perhaps if I could make my gauges light up blue then I could have a matching radio, I would just remove the amber clock. Has anyone done any mods to that clock and put something else in its place? I'm looking for ideas. Thanks. | | | 06-24-2007, 04:15 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: N. I personally don't really like the white face gauges, and would be just fine with the dark face gauges, although the e46 M3 gauges i feel look the best. Can anyone tell me how they made this a blue backed pod? http://data.bmrparts.com/ads.asp?ad=AD153&type=41 Does anyone know what causes the dash illumination to be orange to begin with? Could changing the bulbs to blue bulbs possibly give me blue illumination? | | | 06-29-2007, 08:29 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | I was asking myself the same question the other day. I want to make my gauges have blue lights at night, but how do u change the filter if there is one???? plus does anyone know how to fix the odometer? mine is not as lit up as it should be during the day or at night, even with the lights on. :-/ | | | 06-29-2007, 08:43 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Southern California - Orange county Posts: 978 | why dont you change the radio color, id crack open my face plate and solder out the leds and change them sounds difficult but if you want ill post some pics on it i've been meaning to do that but have no time with work __________________ 1995 318ti Cosmos Black Bilsteins w/ H&R Sport, Depos w/ angeleyes and HID 5K, 50% short throw kit, Custom fogged intake, AC schnitzer pedels w/ deadpedels, leather stickshift knob, vitesse tuning Ebreak boot w/ shift boot, X-Brace, 325/328 brake upgrade, Gray millpoint leather and cloth interior, custom computer multimedia system, and Style 5 BBS 17" rims, M3 Mirrors, CF Hood | | | 06-29-2007, 08:58 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | Well i dont have a stock radio anymore. Now i have an Alpine headunit, which is blue-ish, along with the blue/white interior lights. I thought about maybe getting a M3 gauge cluster, since i read it shows up blue when ya turn on the lights. is it true, or no? | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
