While at the dealership checking on parts, my friend who works there let me know they had just unloaded three new 1 series that morning. A quick trip over to showroom and I soon had sales rep leading me out to the service area. There was a red 135i being prepped for the sale. The rep let me hop in to check it out. Gotta love that new care smell. Anyway, I took a look at the sticker...$43,000. It was the same price as the 335i passed on the way out. The salesperson pointed out the 135 was loaded and the 335 was not. True, but still a lot of money for the car in my opinion. I regret not have the sense of mind to snap a few pictures. Anyone else see them in the US yet? __________________ Just got the car. The base price might be fairly inexpensive, but the options really add up quikly. And for being smaller than the 3-Series, they don't weigh that much less. For my money (if I could afford it), I'd go for a 3-Series. The 128i is much cheaper, although still not an entry-level car. BMW learned with the 318ti that they don't really have any business competing in the honda/toyota range of cars. The 1 series in my opinion is being offered for those people who want something "more" than a toyota/honda, but don't want to pay for a 3 series. Although the savings is not that much.... Still a 6,000 to 10,000 saving depending on trim and equipment. They got them at the dealership here recently, but I heard they are not releasing these for sale just yet. They are show models for the time being. | | | 03-19-2008, 05:31 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: OKC, Oklahoma Posts: 387 | Quote: Originally Posted by lazoh +1 and I just took my name off the waiting list since I got a smoking deal on a M Roadster. Maybe I'll buy one. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 03-19-2008, 10:55 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Im not a fan of the 1series coupe/vert/sedan at all. Their contours just arent "right", they really shouldve changed it up or something. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 03-20-2008, 02:58 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2003 Location: Toledo, Ohio Posts: 130 | IMO, the 1 series is nice looking, but lacks the sporty-ness of the Ti. Though I'd definitely rock a 135i if I could afford it. In the meantime I may be looking into a Tc before long. | | | 03-20-2008, 09:16 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | keep us posted dusten __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 03-20-2008, 09:19 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Omaha, NE Posts: 737 | Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn They got them at the dealership here recently, but I heard they are not releasing these for sale just yet.
