Default Opinions on this exhaust

I've never purchased any ebay aftermarket parts but I'm seriously considering this http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-98-BMW-E3...43d1de&vxp=mtr

My current S52 TI has a really screwed up exhaust. Its a bunch of hack job welds, rattles like hell, and is way too loud.
When I dropped it off after the swap, the stellar tech said he couldn't use the OEM catback because there was no way it would fit. So he cannibalized some of the OEM exhaust parts and created frankenstein - a really poor job.

I need to solve this soon. Thats why I'm considering the ebay setup I posted above.
Other things to consider:
S52
Z3 diff
lowered

I could never check his story by trying to fit the M3 catback because he said it was in bad shape and tossed it...

I'm looking for a quiet exhaust. The current drone is giving me migraines!

It will not fit your car unless you cut the exhaust and re-weld it again.

I had mine done custom from the y-pipe off the headers into a single 2.5" all the way back. It is true that you cannot easily use the OEM M3 muffler, it's just too large to properly fit where the muffler is supposed to fit, plus it bends to the right.

I have posted pics of my exhaust several times in various threads. It has no drone, is quiet and stealthy, and has a good flow without losing needed back pressure.

Ok, now that I see yours, I noticed one thing I DO NOT have. Looking forward to aft...that "can" that is right after the cat converter. Is that a resonator? I assume without that I'm going to be loud, correct?

Exactly. You should have a resonator, which will eliminate the drone. The exhaust you linked to doesn't have one either.

Shellback---I recently purchased a high flow performance muffler/resonator combination from www.solo-performance.com, as differentiated from solo performance specialities. got very good service from jeff boychuk. they sell systems with a range of loudness----I got the "quantum" muffler/resonator, which still has a modest level of note while cruising----about the same as a supersprint muffler that I had. they also have another level called "stealth" that should be fairly quiet. the quality seems very good, and there are a variety of sizes that will easily fit the ti, and mine is also lowered with the e30 differential. the prices were quite reasonable, especially compared to the system you found on ebay. the muffler shop I used charged only $100 for the installation, and it is perfect fit.

I'll also add that my entire setup (Cat, Resonator, Muffler, installation) ran about $600. The Cat is a Magnaflow CA legal hi-flow racing cat, with Borla Turbo resonator and muffler.

Excellent info. I'm going to check out that website and also look at the local muffler shops to see what they have.
First thing I will do though is put her on a lift and take a photo to see exactly what's currently installed.
Thanks again for the info.

Be sure to save your old cat just in case. If your car is '96 or newer, you'll have post-cat o2 sensors which may throw a code with an aftermarket cat.
