This is a feeler thread for E36 318(ti/i/is) specific weighted selector rods. I have not been able to find an aftermarket selector rod that will clear the vibration damper on the E36 318 driveshaft so I decided to make my own.
The prototype selector rod was made using a brand new genuine BMW selector rod (p/n - 25111222203) and filling the empty cavity with lead then capping the ends using some heat resistant RTV. All external dimensions are the same as the stock selector rod, the weight is only added to the inside.
Stock Selector Rod - 191 grams 
Weighted Selector Rod - 387 grams 
The weighted rod is essentially twice as heavy now and it makes a noticeable difference when shifting. Shifts are smoother with a very positive feeling and much less notchy.
I was very pleased with the results of doing this and wanted to try and share it with the other members here.
Depending on the amount of interest I would offer these selector rods for $80.
