That's awesome Brendan, congrats yet again. Are you prepping it for any class in particular or just a car to take to HPDEs?

I'm in the Sports Car Club of Vermont which has a novice class for the auto-x, car classing doesn't matter as long as you've done under a certain number of events so I'll probably do that for as long as I can then figure it out after, looking at the points system I'll probably end up in Class 2

stripped the interior from the b pillars back, the seat belt bolts were too tight for me to get off with my little 3/8" ratchet, I'll get it to work once it's registered and use the 1/2" breaker bar or impact gun

time for some Por-15, I can see light through it in some spots

ahaha... im jealous and you are building up a great start for a bmw 3 series museum..
but on a more serious note me and dad are always talking about getting another car, just to mess with. he likes racing straight lines and i like going sideways so we get stuck there everytime. i almost convinced him on a 240sx a few weeks back then realized its a waste of money for a car with no class so now im looking at another e36 to drift and hes looking at a honda to drop a 4.6l 4cam ford motor in.. haha a honda cobra?

lol, a V8 Honda would be sweet

I think a 6 cyl. E36 would be a good compromise, it's got the potential to be a pretty decent quarter mile car and great handling

Does it have manual windows and sunroof or power? I think the 318i is the only E30 in the US that came with the manual ones, one of the reasons it is so much lighter. I also assume with the battery being in the front it is pretty close to 50/50 weight distribution, great platform for a track car.

I have everything you need to do an M42 swap into that bad boy (and I mean everything), I'll give you one hell of a good deal.

One of the few perks of that tour was getting merch. at 1/2 price. They had a really cool hoodie that looked like a leather jacket.

What? OMG, I'd take it back and get a refund due to false advertising. ;-)

I'll probably keep it pretty simple for now, swapping an engine adds quite a few points to the car classing, I'd like to stay somewhat competitive

it was my dad's fault, he had confused it with this car while we were shopping around

If you do do an engine swap in the future I would not do an M42 swap, you have to do something ludicrous like an S42 swap or less ludicrous but still powerful like the S54 or something.

My only knock against your car is the color, down with all things Bronzit!

I'm not a fan of the color either, gotta admit it's really easy to keep clean though
