Default Drove a manual!

I drove a manual for the first time. I drove my friends ZHP. He was expecting that I would stall the first time. I did it all without instructions or anything. Shifted into second 2 without stalling. I have a little more to learn, but I think I did good for a first time

I feel good!

You don't understand. I've drove a auto all my life. I was able to drive a manual without instructions on how to, and I pulled it off on the first try. Many people doubted that I could do it.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

I didn't stall my first time driving a stick shift car either. Not in 1st or reverse. The car was a 1964 VW Karmann Ghia. I miss that car

I learned on my sister's ugly Datsun.

I had it hopping up and down quite a bit the first few tries.

He didn't do an uphill start, I'm pretty sure he'd stall if he tried to.

He stalled a couple of times and still doesn't know how gears and revs work, but I was definitely surprised. Overall, very nice. Just like anything else, it takes practice and getting used to.

*plays movie flashback music*

The first time I ever drove a manual transmission car, was when I was technically a "runaway" when I was 16 (i didnt go home for a week ... big deal, right?) . I stopped in at Mcdonalds to see if my friend (working there at the time) would let me borrow her Colt Vista wagon to go get some stuff from my house (ran out of clean clothes). After giving up on looking for reverse after nearly 5 minutes, I just put it in drive, and drove over a parking curb (coulda swore i had the clearance to make it). It got hung up on the curb and my other friend had to push the car because it was stuck.

After I got out of te crowded parking lot , I stopped at a place where I could safely figure out WTF I was doing. After that I was fine, and never wanted to drive automatic again.

Ahh, the good old days of being a terrible teenage thrillseeker

congrats.

My first car i bought for myself was a manual. Never drove a manual before that, just wanted to learn so i forced myself.

Gives a better feeling of the car and not to mention on pretty much any older vehicle almost always had one more gear than an automatic.
