Default Not really sure what I've gotten myself into.

Greetings for r3vlimited! I've been a long time e30 owner who decided to get a ti. I've never been a fan of the e36 but I think the ti is an interesting looking car. You don't see too many around.

So anyway here is the car right after I drove it home from Indianapolis

I really like the Z4 wheels on the car. Previous owner bought a lot of aftermarket parts, and did some really dumb stuff to the car too. Cheap crappy $100 angel eyes, but I like them. Crappy racing seats installed crappily. LSD installed, drilled Rotors, short throw shifter, "stage 2" clutch.

Car has some issues:
Random hesitation, sputtering
Throws codes for MAF, Cam Position sensor, Cylinder 4 misfires, O2 sensor.

But this is what else came with the car that worries me:

This turbo was installed but the guy took it off to sell it by itself because he couldn't get what he wanted out of the car with the turbo installed. So this turbo has already been on the car. Everything is setup I just need to throw it on, but I know very little about turbos. Need some advice to put it on.

$3,300 for the car, the more I get to looking at some of the weird things about the car the more I think I may have gotten a lemon, but with all parts I feel like I still got my money's worth.

EDIT: got the pic of turbo to work

Good luck.
Judging by the mods, it looks like it's going to be a basket case.
I'm sure others will be able to help.

Nice color. I had Boston Green 328i 1997 Sedan. Now have a Z3 1996 M44.

I've done the Cam Position sensor and O2 sensor. Fairly easy DIY. Should cost you close or a little over $200 in parts.

Here's a vid on it.

I've got a gallon of Cosmos Blue that I think will look pretty awesome on this car, was saving it for my e30 but that thing is ages away from getting painted.

Personally, I'd make sure the engine was still in good shape after being turbo'd before I spent any money painting the car. But that's just me. heh heh

Yeah I'm probably going to throw the turbo back on then start looking at how many problems it has. Any thoughts on the turbo? Might start a new thread just on helping me install it

the hate is more towards the PO, technically since the ti is a 4-cyliner it should only have 2 of those vents on each fender

xxxjohnboyxxx is pretty knowledgeable about turbocharging an M44, he should be able to help you

Yeah I was reading that thread on how he was offering to do a turbo install. Seems like a turbo enthusiast.
