Hi all,

Great forum you've got here! Lots of good info everywhere I look, gotta love that.

Just picked up a 96 318ti, 5spd in black. Its a total stripper model. Cloth seats, no sunroof, yadda yadda, etc. 210k miles

I poked around under the hood a bit and saw a Dinan sticker on what looks to be an electrical port of some sort in the vicinity of the brake booster. Thats good, right?

Anywho, the PO had it for 3 years and did rudimentary maintenance so its gonna need some work to get it up to snuff. It had some worn out no name tires on it, and this being winter in Minnesota I slapped on some Blizzaks that tires plus had on sale ($362 for the set installed, WOOT!)

It needs:
Control arms and bushings, struts, etc up front.
Pinion gasket on the diff (Totally dry, doh!)
Shifter bushings
Probably some wheel bearings
The gas gauge goes to Zero when I hit a bump, gotta look into that

Thats the list so far, I'm sure I'll find more issues. Its fun to drive, my last vehicle was a 2wd chevy colorado so this feels like a roller skate.

I plan to get it fixed up in time for some summer autocrossing, or HDPE's. Hopefully get the body straight and repaint. We'll see how far my wife lets me get

Anyway, $1450 for a fun toy, and I get to play in the garage again!

Will do, looks like you have a 318ti addiction by your signature. This is my first BMW, and only my 3rd non american car of the 30+ cars I've owned.

Haha! Yeah, we have a few. I call two mine, my wife has one as does my son. One is a parts car I need to have hauled off.

I do have other non-TIs BMWs tho...
