Default Anti Slip Control and Traction Control ASC+T

I have a 318TI Australian model ( 1998 )
The ASC light started coming on just after the car was started and taking off. At the time the light came on the engine missfired.

I plugged in the Peake Diagnostic Tool and it had the Throttle Position Sensor, Load Calculation Crosscheck Error and the Missfire.

I unplugged the sensor on the diff for the traction control and checked the wiring all OK. I then removed the ASC relay and the 3 fuses for the ASC and ABS. Now the ASC & ABS lights are on permanent on the dash.

The missfire is still there but the throttle position sensor has gone away but the MAF has come on permanent.

Q1- How can I clear the ASC & ABS lights on the dash?
Q2- Can I run without the MAF & if so how do I dissable it?
Q3- How can I dissable the ASC+T?
Q4- The manual states with the ASC+T there is extra Throttle Actuator, where is it?

The ASC valve is located just downstream of the MAF. It looks like a throttle body, but it's actually just a valve prior to the throttle body. Follow the cable from the valve and it will lead you to the ASC actuator which should be mounted to the strut tower next to the cruise control actuator and airbox. I'm guessing that your misfire was caused by a loose, dry or cracked intake boot or perhaps the oval ASC boot. What amazes me is that you've went through all of the extra measures to disconnect the ASC when it would have been much easier to just fix the problem.

I wasnt trying to dissconnect the ASC. I was trying to isolate the fault so I could sort out the problem. But all it did was compound the problem.

-not a good thing to do... if the MAF is bad, get a new one.

-just unplug the actuator...

#1 on the pick.. if you look into the engine - tou you right, hooked up to the asc secondary throttle body.
