I'm really clueless on this problem that my car is having. I hope someone here can help me out. I have a 1996 318ti. I just bought it in February. We were driving home and all of a sudden the car started hesitating. It was really hard to get the car moving. The car completely stalls at stop signs, red lights etc. unless you keep your foot on the gas. It starts fine, but keeping it running is difficult, especially because it is a stick shift. I checked the plugs and wires, they are fine. The engine light is blinking. Here are the codes: P0202, 0204, 0203, 0201 (all cylinder misfires) P0443,0301,0300,0302,0304(injectors) Here are the ones that are stumping me... P1511, 1510, 1509, 1585,1550 Thank you in advance for all the help. How can I check it to ensure it isn't sticking? I changed my fuel filter recently, and it kind off fixed it. Let me know if you find out what it is __________________ 1995 BMW 3.18i upcoming modifications: Supersprint Exhaust, CAT delete, Cosmo Racing CAI,DINAN chip, M3 rims | | | 08-17-2005, 12:59 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Posts: 8 | I still haven't figured this problem out. I took it to a local garage and they couldn't figure it out. I have to bite the bullet and take it to the dealer...today. I'll let you know what was up with it. I don't want the bill, though. Crank Position Sensor, 02 sensor, Throttle Position Sensor. IAC(Idle Air control) WIll susually show itself initially with a wondering idle, then eventually failure to idle or idle too high. I havn't had to fiddle witht he 318's IAC valve yet but on my other rigs I spray carb cleaner inside the valve with the engine slightly reved up. If I can see the opening (MAP style intake.) otherwise if there is a hose attached to your intake past the air flow sensor but before the throttle body Remove the hose and spray carb cleaner in at idle and it will flow through the IAC. (You do not want to spray carb cleaner throught he air flow sensor. Bad thing. Both my other rigs have made it 180+ thousand miles this way without changeing the valve. The problem is electrical. I have a bad DME. It will cost me $1700 to replace. They said it was the most expensive part on the car. And that some times they go out for no reason. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
