Question ASC Light

Anyone else have/know the cause of the ASC light to come on by itself and not go off during normal driving?

This happened a coupla times in the past and a simple restart of the engine would clear it but today it happened 4 times! Id hit neutral while doing 70, cut and crank it, and 1 minute later it returns.

Could your throttle cable be sticking? I know if you rev the engine from under the hood by the throttle cable the ASC light will come on and not go out. The only way to "reset" it is to restart the car. Just a thought...

My ASC light came on as you described several times when teh car was newer. The dealer replaced the cable twice (under warranty): The third time it happened they said the cable was stretching - so instead of replacing it they tightened it. It hasn't happened since.
