Well, the title explains it all: whether the plug wires are really a maintenance item (I'm sure that if it is my 150K miles on the clock make it due) or is more like the 3,000 miles oil change (with all due respect, of course). What does BMW recommends on this matter? If so, has any of you guys ever herd of "BMW High Performance Spark Plug Wires" (like these or these) __________________ 2003 Z4 2.5i 2002 Ducati Monster S4 | | | 11-18-2008, 01:05 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I'd recommend changing them with that mileage | | | 11-18-2008, 02:51 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Raleigh/Charlotte, NC Posts: 1,233 | bosch wires cost me 152 at autozone __________________ -Jeff | | | 11-18-2008, 02:57 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Laguna Beach Posts: 357 | Spark plug wires Hey Luca; Yes the wires do need replacing, in MHO, every 100k or so. I found a seller on eBay that has NGK wires and NGK Iridium sparkplugs (BKR7EIX-2667) with heat rate of 7, perfect for the DASC. Wires are $168 while plugs are $29. I guess I'll change them with the next oil change __________________ 2003 Z4 2.5i 2002 Ducati Monster S4 | | | 12-27-2008, 02:55 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Australia Posts: 20 | Get Good Quality NEW ones .after working on aircraft and having mag drop problems with plug wire HT leads I have always changed plug leads on my past vehicles when I replace the plugs ,cost is not that bad . | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
