Default new guy to BMW's

I've picked up my first BMW, a 98 318ti M package, I'm very interested in working on this car a little just to make it a little more enjoyable to drive and keep it reliable. I could definitely use help when finding parts as I have no idea what the E36 or any other model names mean when searching for parts. I hope to revive this car and keep it on the road for a while longer!

Learn to use www.realoem.com. Put in the last seven characters of your VIN and it will list parts specific to your car. Other's will chime in, but I typically have been using www.thebmwpartstore.com for mail order parts. I use my BMWCCA card (club card) for getting discounts at the local dealer when I can't wait for a part.

I use two parts suppliers http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...36_catalog.htm
http://www.autohausaz.com/ (super fast shipping)

When you are ready to upgrade your suspension, I suggest http://www.hrsprings.com/scripts/app...MW%20|%20318ti

Thanks for the links. I'll definitely check them out. One thing I did not know before I bought the car, was that the steering wheel does not adjust! Never seen that before!

I hated that when I first got the car. After a few days it feels normal and now others cars wheels feel super low.
