So, now that the swap is finished, I am contemplating re-badging the car.
My options are;
leave the "318ti" - ( do nothing )
change to "318tii" - homage to past and current tii's
change to "325ti" -
change to "325tii"
change to "tii"
remove all rear badging except for the roundel
I am really leaning towards something with the extra "i"...

Well, I already have the numbers/letters listed, so I wouldn't have to buy anything else. ///M badges are over-used by the "other" (non ti) e36 crowd who don't have a ///M car.

Been debating the same thing and putting 325 instead of 318. I've decided it's not worth my time, and I'll keep it a sleeper, till someone sees it pull  __________________

I had 328tii on my car and people had completely no clue.
I guess only a 2002 owner might get it.

My inspiration for a modern version of the "tii" came mostly from this;
(and the 2002tii as well, obviously...)
