I bought it to send it to technique tuning to tune. I plan on swapping out the stock one with the tuned one when they are finished with it. I did some research, and I keep hearing about the EWS going to get in the way of a straight swap. Please share me the details about what I need to do. | | | 06-14-2008, 10:51 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I think you need to have the ECU aligned at the dealership, chances are it's going to be expensive, maybe you can ask Technique Tuning to do an EWS-delete | | | 06-15-2008, 12:37 AM | #3 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Do you think they will charge extra as well? | | | 06-15-2008, 12:46 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by BMW_Hatchback Do you think they will charge extra as well? | I'm not sure about that, you'd have to ask them | | | 06-15-2008, 12:50 AM | #5 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Right on, if it doesn't work out, I could always resell this. | | | 06-15-2008, 03:03 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | when I called the dealership to ask about EWS alignment, they told me "it would take about an hour of labor" Labor was $92/hr. So, the cost of realignment would be ~$100. | | | 06-15-2008, 10:19 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | yep and honestly it takes them 15 minutes tops! its pretty lame! the hardest part is opening your hood and plugging the gt1 in (or whatever computer software they are using now.) __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
