Do you think these guys know what they're doing? | | | 10-30-2006, 02:32 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | Interesting, where does the board get installed, under the glove box? Well if anyone's interested in getting one, please let us know how it works out. | | | 10-30-2006, 05:38 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: SoCal Posts: 549 | Too bad you don't live any closer. They're a quick 10 mins away from me. I've always associated Jet with like DIESEL TRUCKS and Domestics. EDIT: If anyone is up for it, try and contact the chip tuner here: http://www.dsylva-tech.ca/ He's got a chip for an M42 E30 tho, but I'm sure he can conjure something up for us. Many E34 guys swear by this guys chip. Compared to the Turner and Dinan chips, which give you max power at max revs, this guy tunes for REAL DRIVEABILITY and as much LOW DOWN TORQUE as possible. Lots of guys on bimmerforums turned in their Turner/Dinan chips for his. Says alot. __________________ 318Ti Sport (Gone, but thanks for your years of service) | M3 E30 | 190E-16V | M Coupe E36/8 | | | 10-30-2006, 06:27 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | They just don't send you the chip? OBDII usually requires that you send in the ECU to be reprogrammed. OBDI is usually just a pull off the old chip, and put in the new chip.. That's why most people like the shark injector, doesn't require you to send in the ECU to be reprogrammed. | | | 10-30-2006, 06:55 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: SoCal Posts: 549 | Just saw the customer testimonial page, saw the following: Hello, I have a 98 BMW Z3 and i recently put a JET chip in my car. I'm very satisfied with the performance. You can especially feel the acceleration from 3 to 4 thousand rpm. No, it won't work. And where did you get 20 from? The original says 17, but it is probably more like 10, and on an M44(which is doesn't say then even make a chip for) it would be more like 2 or 3. They may move the powerband around, but I don't see them producing a whole lot more power than any of the other chip tuners.. | | | 10-30-2006, 02:33 PM | #12 | doesn't care about you. No, chips that are designed for N/A motors advance the timing too much for FI applications. Be sure to swap back to your original chip before installing a FI system. | __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 10-31-2006, 12:09 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn They just don't send you the chip?
