Most aftermarket cats simply won't work on our cars. They typically last anywhere from a week to two months before failing. You need to either find a used one on the forum from someone doing a part-out(it's illegal for junkyards to sell used cats), or pony-up and buy an OEM cat(they run about 1500 bucks!). There is one aftermaket cat that a forum member claims is working on his ti, but I can't remember the brand or who it was. Even still, it wasn't a cheap cat. IIRC it was around 600 bucks. You might want to look for that thread and research it before dropping that kind of money. Depending on the scantool that was used to pull your codes, it should've read something along the lines of "catalyst efficiency below threshold". If it reads anything along the lines of "fuel trim" or sensor, it's likely an o2 sensor. '95 ti's only have one o2 sensor, while '96 and later models have two, a pre-cat and a post-cat sensor. Our cars don't like aftermarket o2 sensors either, stick with Bosch OEM and not those splice-in jobbys they sell on ebay. I know the OEM stuff is expensive, but if you try to go cheap you'll end up spending more time and money and your car still won't be fixed. Good luck.
