Default Overheating Problems again...

I just replaced the radiator/elec fan/thermostat today and engine is still overheating....

Before I replaced all this stuff. I was able to drive it for like nearly 20+miles before it would overheat. It would go to middle then idle for about 6-10 minutes then work it's way to red.

Now after everything has been swapped. It goes to middle really fast, say 1minute of driving. Then idles for a few minutes then goes to red just as fast. I am clueless about cooling for this car, Ive had several probs, but nothing like this... Was real happy about putting this **** in that I was going to get some food from Taco Bell and I couldn't, I'm mad.

It's not leaking during the engine area, but theres a small leak from under the car.. I really need my manual, not sure what it is...

have you considered a head gasket leak?

get the car compresion tested , and checked for cO gasses in the water

if this shows clear then you r ok, its probably your heater matrix that is leaking (still a bitch of a job though)

Well there's not many components to the cooling system. You've replaced them all exept for the water pump. You also have a coolant level sensor and a coolant temp sensor, but I'd check the waterpump first. Squeeze the driver's side upper radiator hose while the cars running and see if it expands in your grip. If not, then you have a bad waterpump. If your WP took a crap, there's a chance that you might have a blockage somewhere in the engine block. When you took the t-stat out, did you flush out the engine really good with a hose or a flush kit? And finally, be sure to properly bleed the system of air to avoid creating an airlock in your radiator which restricts circulation. Are you losing coolant with the new radiator installed? If so, I'd take Mallards advice and check out your heater core and all of the plastic coolant lines. Good luck!

Well a hose blew from the back of the block, one which I replaced before I think.. No time to jack it up and check though, off to work.... It seems it was a huge burst of coolant then just dripped for a bit, while the coolant in the radiator didn't go down at all... Probably the water pump :S. I will do that test though before I leave, wont be able to post back though until I get off, running late .

Wait, If coolant gushed out of the engine and the level in the radiator expansion tank didn't go down, then you just have an air bubble. I bet your radiator is air locked and just needs to be bled properly. Once the engine temp has cooled enough to take the radiator cap off, start the car, park it on a hill or a driveway with the nose elevated, turn the heater on full blast, remove the radiator cap, unscrew the bleed screw next to the radiator fill and begin adding coolant. You want to do this as quickly as possible to avoid overheating it. Keep pouring in coolant/water until the bubbles stop coming out of the bleed screw and just a steady stream flows out. Then hose your driveway down thouroughly so no doggys try to lick up the coolant and get sick.
