I just finished moving everything out of the current shop in preparation to move into the next spot once my car comes back. Right now everything is stuffed in my basement storage unit for my apartment=P Other than that my door cards arrived yesterday and I have been fiddling with the front seats. I got the passenger side disassembled, cleaned up, and reassembled with the Looping II pieces. I just need to get the plastic seat base pins and to remove the surface rust and repaint by the bolt holes on the rails. I am taking the drivers seat parts to an upholstery shop to see how much they will charge to replace the fabric on the outer bolsters since it is wore. My upper hatch spoiler has also arrived. I am waiting to hear word from the bodyshop so that I can go and test fit it. As far as I have heard, they haven't started on the car yet because they are trying to get their current work out of the way. I was told they were supposed to start at the end of last week but I am hoping it gets in at the end of this week or sometime next week. __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | 08-20-2014, 10:21 PM | #635 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: West Bend, Wisconsin Posts: 1,055 | I just dropped my seat pieces off at the upholstery shop. The guy said he will get me a quote by mid afternoon tomorrow=) I also called the body shop and my car should be getting started mid next week __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | 08-22-2014, 04:01 PM | #636 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: Germany Posts: 375 | It's amazing when I think about it... the time we started eMailing, your car was still plasti-dipped and you were thinking about doing a full rebuild (with the plan to have it finished for H2oi 2013 - yeah, right ) and now the car is finally off to the body shop for a fresh new coat of paint. It has come such a long way that you can only realize when you browse through this entire build thread or you actually see it in person. Can't wait to see this thing finished. __________________ Want car parts? We have been talking for such a long time=) I was actually reading through the beginning of my build on the local bmw forum and thinking how stupid I sounded. Haha __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | 08-22-2014, 04:21 PM | #638 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: Germany Posts: 375 | I wouldn't call it stupid, I think you have learned so much by doing all the work by yourself. Most people sure wouldn't have gone this route because it's time consuming, money consuming and a lot of people would say "It's just a 318ti, it's not worth it". Your build shows them that they are SO wrong. You're doing all this on your own, by hand, without a lift and with just little space. If you want to make something right, you need a lot of time, money and passion. You have all this (well, I don't know about the money, but the other two ) Let's face it, it doesn't get any better than this. __________________ Want car parts? I really appreciate it. I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without the help and support of my friends. You have been an especially big help throughout all of this =) I am just trying to show people that compacts can be nicer than e36 coupes and sedans. Our body lines are so much smoother in the rear and that is shown off so well when they are lowered. I am happy to see people changing their minds on how they feel about compacts. I have somehow accrued a decent amount of money throughout the build but the paintjob is still going to cost a bit=P __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | 08-22-2014, 07:45 PM | #640 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2013 Location: Seattle Posts: 513 | I agree with Kitty. This is the most awesome build thread that I've found here yet. Makes my imagination go wild. I thank you for that. Great pictures. I didn't notice the dates until now. Nicely done Earl. This may be the finest TI in the states. | | | 08-22-2014, 07:49 PM | #641 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: West Bend, Wisconsin Posts: 1,055 | Thank you very much=) I wouldn't say it is the finest but it should be nice for me when it is done __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | 08-26-2014, 06:41 PM | #642 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: West Bend, Wisconsin Posts: 1,055 | Currently awaiting a material sample to arrive at the upholstery shop to see if they can repair the bolster wear on my drivers seat pieces. That should be in today or tomorrow. Other than that my lightened m20 flywheel showed up Saturday and should be going off to the machine shop shortly. I will be having it blasted, resurfaced, and swapping out the starter ring=) Not bad for $25=D __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | 08-26-2014, 06:49 PM | #643 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: Germany Posts: 375 | Nice find! I'm really excited to see if the Shop can fix the seat for you =) __________________ Want car parts? They want $295 to replace both the left lower and upper bolster fabric. __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | 08-27-2014, 01:39 PM | #645 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: Germany Posts: 375 | That's pretty much the price you'd have to pay here as well __________________ Want car parts?
