Door handles, springs, radio etc etc. This is the car at work (Valeting in Portsmouth, NH) I got a lot of compliments __________________ Instagram: @derek_lit | | | 03-22-2015, 07:46 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Interesting now as this was a low selling model here in the States.. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I am still trying to figure out this very annoying whining though. I've replaced the water pump but its still there. It happens only after the engine is warm. Its a loud humming coming from the intake manifold area. Any ideas? The engine is still a bit rough on idle. Oh and what the heck is this and why do I need it? __________________ Instagram: @derek_lit Last edited by DerekNH; 03-25-2015 at 02:35 AM. | | | 03-25-2015, 03:05 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2015 Location: NYC Queens Posts: 225 | my neck hurts. __________________ 92 Nissan Stanza - Backseat Shenanigans and Tom Foolery - sold and would pickup another 94 Del Solo SI - The Go Get Her - sold 94 auto Prelude "S" for slowww - Daily schmaily - sold 91 MX-5 Miataz - Silversurfer - Weekend Bandicoot 96 5-speed 2dr RAV - Purple baby monster - New Daily | | | 03-25-2015, 04:13 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Derek, what part are asking about? I am chasing a vacuum leak somewhere in my car. I know that vacuum leaks affect idle so I bought an idle control valve and installed it. It helped with the idle but it still isn't perfect. Now I also am trying to diagnose a loud whining sound coming from the intake manifold. It will only happen once the engine has gotten up to temp and I was asking what else it could be considering that I replaced the water pump. I also wasn't sure if vacuum leaks could make such a noise. And the last picture I was asking what that intake tube was and why is it necessary. __________________ Instagram: @derek_lit | | | 03-25-2015, 04:55 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Derek; It's tough to diagnose via internet, but have you checked your PCV valve? If that is bad, you will get a loud whine/wheeze noise. And that elephant trunk hose is your factory cold air intake... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. The White TI's are really growing on me. The one vacuum tube that can be seen in your photo (in the front of the upper mani) looks new. I don't know if I'd describe vacuum leak as whining. If it isn't throwing any codes maybe it is another accessory. Maybe check out the the Alt.? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
