I was heavily thinking about buying a new car(evo,sti,rx7,supra,lexus IS300) but decided too expenssive right now for me to take on another payment. I started thinking maybe i should work with what i have and make a sleeper. My car is in great condition btw. But i want more. Whats the best engine swaps for this car? ive been thinking about a 2jz or 4g63 or maybe even an m3 engine. Any input and help in the right direction would be awesome. | | | 05-04-2010, 08:23 PM | #2 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Welcome to the site! Allow me to introduce you to the Engine Swap sub-forum. (I've moved this thread to the appropriate forum) __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! One member here, Bluebimma, has a LS1 swapped Ti... he may chime in here. Otherwise, be prepared to shell out at least $4k to swap an M3 motor and appropriate upgrades. M52 love on the other hand is cheap... when you get bored of that, boost the **** out of it and if you blow it up, you can get another for under $1k. Unlike the M motor. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 05-04-2010, 10:37 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: VA Posts: 4 | Im heavily thinking about a 2jz or Ls1. If its gonna cost a lot so be it. I want a car that NO one mods and make a complete sleeper out of it. its a nice car, hellrot red, clean, light, now time to make it perform. | | | 05-04-2010, 11:05 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | You can get a dropout ls/t56 setup for about 3-4k. Youll need to put in quite a few hours, but its really not that difficult. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 05-04-2010, 11:33 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: VA Posts: 4 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bluebimma You can get a dropout ls/t56 setup for about 3-4k. That may limit what you can do. Also to point out the obvious, remember that mods like this don't necessarily increase the resale value of the car very much. That being said, good luck with whatever you end up choosing to do! __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH!
