Anyone know anything about them? This is the first one I have EVER seen. They had the thread about Ti's looking like the Scirocco, but I do believe it looks more like this. __________________ Steffen, they are F's not V's. The G60 engine in them is supercharged and that supercharger is incredibly unreliable. Most people that have these cars never drive them because something is always broken. The Corrado SLC has a VR6 in it and is a much more desirable car. However, this was the first iteration of the VR6 and as such it has some problems. A lot of people do 1.8T swaps and I have even seen one with a TDI swap. They are FWD, the spoiler in the back extends at 40mph or something. (Every one I looked at, the spoiler motor was broken and it wouldn't extend.) Check out the Corrado forum on vw vortex for lots of great info about these cars. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 11-14-2008, 04:57 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Erie Pa Posts: 161 | Ive seen tons of them Check out the "stretched tire gallery" on bf.c They are allover that thread. | | | 11-14-2008, 07:09 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Nashville, TN Posts: 699 | The one I saw was the SLC. I wasn't sure about it. It looked to be in nice condition. __________________ Steffen, they are F's not V's. Very cool cars in their day- the Corrado was the successor to the Scirocco and was an excellent handling car, but it was on the expensive side for a Volkswagen ,not overly reliable, and was not a big seller. The VR6 version was actually much faster than the G60 (supercharged). I actually looked around for a few months for one of these before I bought my ti, but it's hard to find cars in LA of that age that haven't been beat to death or aren't $$$ because they have been garaged and meticulously maintained. I'm a fan of the latest generation Scirocco, but it doesn't look like it will ever make it to our shores... | | | 11-14-2008, 09:48 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | I've heard rumors that the new scirocco will be coming to the US. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 11-23-2008, 07:39 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36.
