However, I felt that it would get flamed so I put it out of my thoughts. Then I was looking at pictures of 318ti's on Stanceworks and found a Dakar 318ti with a relocated antenna centered in the rear of the roofline. The car was beautiful and all OEM BMW as far as I could tell beside the retrofit. So here is the question... How hard would relocating the antenna be? just buy a MK4 VW antenna and mount it and wire it or would there be complications to it? Also since I am already working there, could I just install an Evo 8 vortex generator AND antenna together? would it fit? would it be ridiculous? Anyone want to photoshop one on a 318ti? If the roofs are similar lengths it should be able to be epoxied in place and made to fit the roof's curves IMO. Its just an idea, I plan on relocating the antenna but the vortex generator is just a fantasy. I wont be offended so speak up if you like. Also a picture is worth a 1000 words so lets see what it could end up looking like. __________________ -1996 318TI ACTIVE PACKAGE (ALPINE WEISS): 75-0MPH IN 3 ROLLS AND AN END TO END FLIP.Mods: Complete M3 Body Kit, Carbon Fiber Side Mirrors, Carbon Fiber GTR Hood, Carbon Fiber Hatch, Carbon Fiber Sunroof Panel, Blacked Out Ambers and Taillights, 17' TSW Nagaro Rims, European Front License Plate, Sripped Out Interior, NRG Deep Dish Steering Wheel with MOMO Hub, NRG Carbon Fiber Shift Ball, Pioneer Avic N2 Stereo (Navigation/Bluetooth/CD), Cosmo Racing Cold Air Intake, Passenger Airbag Delete, Rear Wiper Delete, Blacked Out Kidney Grills, Projector Fog Lights, manual windows -1996 318TI CALIFORNIA EDITION (SCHWARZ ZWEI): BACK IN BLACK!Current Mods: European Front License Plate, Rear Wiper Delete, Bosch Miata Battery, Blacked Out Ambers, 17" Contours (non-staggered), Kenwood Stereo (Bluetooth/USB/CD), City Lights, Corner Running Light Delete, Rear Taillight Mod (//M style brake light), Passport 9500xi Radar Detector (Hardwired), Laguna Seca Decal, Stripped Out Interior, Debaffled Airbox, Blacked Out Kidney Grills, Fog Light Delete, M3 front bumper w/ lip, Sparco Hood Pins, Sparco Trunk Springs, NRG Carbon Fiber Shift Knob, Rokkor Coilovers, Magnaflow Muffler (11225) Whats Coming Next: NRG Steering wheel, Corbeau Forza Seats and Sliders (X2), NRG Race Style Steering Wheel with MOMO Hub, UUC Clutch Stop,, M3 Side Moldings, Manual Window regulators | | | 04-24-2013, 09:44 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Santa Maria, CA Posts: 277 | Bump. You would need some type of spoiler. Then at what speeds would it be useful? How much down force will it apply is also questioned. | | | 04-26-2013, 07:15 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Santa Maria, CA Posts: 277 | I have another thread waiting for people who want to join in on a group buy from Harry Hockly so I can get their wing. Proper height, great looks, and very inexpensive. I figure with that wing and a vortex generator, I would get the most bang for my buck. The wing is $160USD and I've found the generators for an evo 8 for $45USD. How fast I would need to go for it to help... Idk, but I figure for $45 it couldn't hurt to try. It's waiting on if it will look rediculous or fit on the tiny bit of metal behind my California top or not is the question. I would love to see it Pshop'd to get an idea. __________________ -1996 318TI ACTIVE PACKAGE (ALPINE WEISS): 75-0MPH IN 3 ROLLS AND AN END TO END FLIP.Mods: Complete M3 Body Kit, Carbon Fiber Side Mirrors, Carbon Fiber GTR Hood, Carbon Fiber Hatch, Carbon Fiber Sunroof Panel, Blacked Out Ambers and Taillights, 17' TSW Nagaro Rims, European Front License Plate, Sripped Out Interior, NRG Deep Dish Steering Wheel with MOMO Hub, NRG Carbon Fiber Shift Ball, Pioneer Avic N2 Stereo (Navigation/Bluetooth/CD), Cosmo Racing Cold Air Intake, Passenger Airbag Delete, Rear Wiper Delete, Blacked Out Kidney Grills, Projector Fog Lights, manual windows -1996 318TI CALIFORNIA EDITION (SCHWARZ ZWEI): BACK IN BLACK!Current Mods: European Front License Plate, Rear Wiper Delete, Bosch Miata Battery, Blacked Out Ambers, 17" Contours (non-staggered), Kenwood Stereo (Bluetooth/USB/CD), City Lights, Corner Running Light Delete, Rear Taillight Mod (//M style brake light), Passport 9500xi Radar Detector (Hardwired), Laguna Seca Decal, Stripped Out Interior, Debaffled Airbox, Blacked Out Kidney Grills, Fog Light Delete, M3 front bumper w/ lip, Sparco Hood Pins, Sparco Trunk Springs, NRG Carbon Fiber Shift Knob, Rokkor Coilovers, Magnaflow Muffler (11225) Whats Coming Next: NRG Steering wheel, Corbeau Forza Seats and Sliders (X2), NRG Race Style Steering Wheel with MOMO Hub, UUC Clutch Stop,, M3 Side Moldings, Manual Window regulators Last edited by pcalahane; 04-26-2013 at 07:18 PM. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
