Default 1995 or 1996

If my car is manufactured on Sept 8/95 would my car still be a 95?

Clubsports were manufactured in 10/95 and BMW considered them '95 models, so I assume yours would be considered a '95 as well.

Mine is a 8/95 build date and is a MY 95, so it's most likely a 95...

I think September was the month that they went over to the next model year, just open your hood, and look either on the underside of the hood or the crossmember (I forget where) and find the emissions sticker, there should be a part that says "this vehicle conforms to all emissions standards for the 199X model year", that will answer your question for sure

Pretty sure it's a 95. Thanks.

Default Confusing

Hi ya I'm new here. I just got my "1995" 318ti this week. And right away I ran into a few problems.

Car built in Sept/1995
The car is badged 1.8L

Here's the problem.
It' takes an oil filter from a 1996 model. Brought home the 95' and it didn't fit.

But when I changed the belts, 1996 was too big but the 1995 belts fit.

I don't know which part to order for which year now.

Anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks

later M42 (95) engines came with the M44 (96-99) oil filter housing, other than that, parts for a 95 should fit

Thanks TiFreak, that cleared a lot of things up for me. So you're saying everything under the hood is m42, only the oil housing is m44.
