Wifie's car part II

Made a morning trip to Pick n Pull for a passenger side front inner fender liner and a socket and sensor for the external temp sensor.

• Installed Passenger fender liner
• Fixed external temp sensor to OBD
• Reinstalled a lower pan for better cooling until I get the Improved WolfERJ version
• Replaced rear strut tower bar
• Leather treated the interior
• Reset the service indicator

Took it for a spin, tighter and more responsive. The used tranny mounts made a difference over the sheared ones. I should check/replace the motor mounts I suspect as well, when I replace the tranny mounts with fresh ones. Overall, felt tighter and some rattles are now gone.

Aside from the motor mounts, next is her headliner and proactively replace the ignition lock as I noticed it spun on me a few times this weekend.

^^^ Started working on those new panels this weekend!

Here's what I did (today or recently...)

Some carbon fibre wrap stuff;





Took out the old ratty seats from Pit and shampooed the carpet because of this;



And then installed these;



They are mint e46 sport seats that I found for $200

And that's enough for today...

I know it doesn't count but I put new driver's side switches in the 'vert yesterday. The driver's window switch broke right before we moved back. It was super easy to fix. I'm thinking I should change careers and be a BMW mechanic.

Hi Cindy Lou!

It's never too late for a career change... just don't work on anything newer than e46's... e90's and later are terrible to work on..

Rich, could you keep an eye out for some more fender liners next time you're at the yard? I need both left and right fronts. Figure that would be good to take care of at the same time as the underpanel from James. Thanks!

Oh James you know I love my 'vert! It's the best car, but it's had so many issues. I'm going to sell it and drive ezippy for a while. When I get a job, then I plan on getting something like this:

Changed my belts this weekend. That was way easier than I thought it'd be....

No TI work this weekend other than putting an Arkon mount in for my iPhone

I did do a rear wheel bearing replacement on my son's 325i that was the repair from hell.

Should easier when I get around to the TIs when needed.
