Default Wont Start

I turn the key, everything comes on (all the lights, radio, air, etc) but the car wont start. So I'm guessing I need a new starter correct?

Not necessarily. Is your car a manual or auto? Have you checked the battery? Autozone can check it for free. If your battery is going bad, you may have enough juice to turn on electronics but not enough to turn the starter. If you have a manual, can you push start the car? I had a similar problem a few months ago where my clutch safety switch (which at the time had been bypassed for a clutch stop that is no longer there) had managed to reengage.

id check these in this order:

1) the battery
2) the fuses
3) fuel line
4) the starter

I tried to jump it because I thought maybe it was the battery and I wasnt getting enough power for the starter, but that didnt work. I will check the fuse. What do I need to check on the fuel lines? My car is an auto.

i had a problem like this my problem was a 15amp fuse for the airbag i believe #30 or something ...TRUST ME check the fuses its most probably there! and the fuel lines get a can of starter fluid and try to start the car if it doesnt jump and you hear a grinding noise its most probably the fuel system

It was the fuse, #46 for the brake lights. I just changed it and everything is cool. Thank you very much for the help.. marleymon just saved me $130.

Ok.. so I put a new fuse in last night, everything was cool. I drove about 3 miles today, parked, came out 2 hours later and the fuse was blown again. What's the deal?

aight now you have either a stripped wire or the bulb keeps doing it. Id check the wires to the rear brakes and see if one of the wires is touching metal... this will make the fuse go out.

Angry Starter and battery replaced twice in 45days

Still, car will not start intermittently. I am running out of options. When, so it seems, the car get hot its starter will not engage. I am about to take this starter back to the shop that rebuilt it. Is it the starter or am I barking up the wrong tree? Its starter seems to engage after it cools down. But I am not sure of anything anymore. getting very frustrated........

i dont think this will be an issue that we cna diagnose just because the car does start intermittently. This is an issue that a mechanic will have to investigate. The next time the car does not start take careful notes on what you hear, smell, and feel. Get the car to start take it to a mechanic and tell him in detail what is wrong with the car. It is most probably the starter system and you probably have some faulty wiring or something =/

I went to the store again and it did the same thing. I am able to start the car from my apartment but when I get to the store and shut her off it will not engage the starter. Only after 50tries and half hour cool down does it attemt to engage. Is there anything I should be checking?
