Default 96 318ti cooling system rebuild questions

Okay it was suggested that when I get my 96 318ti this week with 116k on the odo that I redo the cooling system since that's a known weak point with these.

I see where Tischer has a complete cooling kit for $485 shipped. Looks to have all of the parts except the rear plastic hose connector on the head. It has a rebuilt waterpump with it and I can't tell if it has plastic or metal impeller. Thoughts on what's the best way to pursue this course?

Thanks in advance for any advice from the more experienced 318 owners.

Definitely get the plastic rear hose connector... It will fail.
As far as the pump is concerned if it's new I'd let it go.
Both metal and plastic impeller pumps are available for under $70, so it's up to you.
If the PO knew what he was doing, you should have a metal impeller on the thing.
my $0.02
