Still have the cat-back exhaust, differential, axles and suspension pieces. Hurry up on this stuff before it hits the recycling bin... I just updated my suspension (H&R Sports, Konis, Meyle HD LCAs, Powerflex bushings, tie-rods, etc.) and installed an E28 3.25 LSD differential. I am now in the final preparation stages for my M52/ZF swap. So I've got a bunch of stuff to sell from my June 1996 BMW 318ti. I have receipts for all new parts from Pelican Parts and/or my local BMW dealer. If you hurry (next couple of weeks), you can drive the car to feel how well everything works. The M44 engine has 195k miles, and has run perfectly for the 25k miles I have owned it over the last 15 months. I installed new NGK plugs, wires, waterpump, radiator, hoses, plastic coolant pipes, and ALL o-rings/seals when I bought it. There are no leaks or untoward noises, and I have driven it all over the Left Coast without any problems. I have receipts from the previous owner showing he used synthetics, as have I since I've owned it. I'll throw in the ECU, engine harness, K&N panel filter, intake tract and exhaust manifold for $400. I'll need a weekend to remove it, and I can use my cherry picker to load it into your pickup/trailer. I'm also selling the Getrag 250 5-speed transmission, including a new BMW Guibo and new Meyle trans mounts (both 25k miles ago). The trans was replaced by the previous owner at 165k miles with a good used one that had 120k miles; RedLine synthetics in the box since it was replaced. The clutch was replaced at 165k miles, and it shifts/holds fine without any noises. I'll sell the whole shooting match for $200 (I'll remove the trans when I do my swap). I also have the open/non-LSD 3.46 small-case differential and axles for sale. The axle boots are in great shape, and there are no untoward noises or other damage. I'll sell all of this for $100 or best offer. For those looking for something truly unique, I've got a 5-lug drum brake rear suspension setup, including trailing arms. The trailing arm bushings appear to be in good shape and worked fine before I swapped it out last weekend. Why drums, you ask? My car came out of Italy; I've also got the Italian owner's manual that I'll throw in. The rear brake setup is noticeably lighter than the disk brake setup that I replaced it with... you can have the whole setup for $50. Finally, I've got the two front spindles, backing plates, and non-vented brake calipers that I'll sell for $25 (for everything). No leaks and the pads have plenty of life -- but the disks look a little thin (I haven't mic'd it to be sure). I swapped in the front setup from the 328i that grabbed the engine from, so I'm practically giving this away. I'm not looking to make a mint here, and I really don't want to ship these heavy items. Please help me clear out my garage and jump-start my engine swap! All items are OBO, and are located in beautiful San Luis Obispo. Make a vacation out of it when you pick up this stuff (package deal offers are welcome). Geoff Last edited by Strawman; 08-12-2013 at 04:23 AM. If so would you want to sell that to me? Paul | There are plenty of threads on this site about auto-to-manual swaps. I'm only selling some of the required parts (you'd need pedals, clutch master cylinder, etc.). Good luck with your project! | | | 04-28-2013, 04:39 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: San Francisco, CA Posts: 425 | Ah gotcha. Well, good luck with the sale! Would you be willing to ship it to me in Utah | | | 05-10-2013, 04:21 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: SLO, CA Posts: 168 | Just PM'd you; I'd rather not ship. I plan to do the M52/ZF swap in early June and I'll have to see how much energy I have at that time (I'm old!). In the meantime, if you find one locally jump on it. What are the chances that you are the guy I bought 2 white e30 doors from a while back? | | | 07-28-2013, 07:24 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: SLO, CA Posts: 168 | Wow, has it really been over two months since I posted this? The engine/trans are now out of the car and ready to go into your car. I prefer not to ship any of this stuff and that you come to San Luis Obispo to pick these items up. It should be noted that I recently got a Check Engine light, P011 Air Intake Temperature Sensor. However, I took videos of the engine running and accelerating to show no problems with the car. | | | 07-30-2013, 07:56 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: SLO, CA Posts: 168 | | | | 08-10-2013, 12:58 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: SLO, CA Posts: 168 | Accepted an offer for the engine/trans and all related equipment, took a deposit and delivering tomorrow in Sacramento. Other parts still available for CHEAP!!! | | | 08-12-2013, 04:21 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: SLO, CA Posts: 168 | Engine/trans sold to benz-tech. He's swapping the Getrag 250 trans into his 1991 E30 318i to get better gear spacing, and then building a crazy 2.0 liter from the M44 I sold him -- bore the block to use S52 pistons (milled down to get an acceptable compression ratio). He's not sure he can use the DME and all related stuff I provided, but he's going to try. I can't wait to hear how his project progresses! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
