Default Looking for a commuter anyone here know this car??

As my name implies I am currently driving a e34 M5 for my daily driver. I bought a e30 318is for my son and loved it so it got me looking at the Ti.

I have found an appealing candidate in UT.

Does anyone here know this car?

Looks like a really nice car but it is not an M3 as the badge on the rear suggests. It has the M-tech package with the bumpers and side moldings. But the owner added those M side view mirrors which actually look like the ones on ebay because it has the blinker and not OEM. The rims look to be M/// as well. The engine is listed as only 4 so it does not have a swapped M3 motor in it. Now if it did and was only 4,500 I would have to buy this car from under you. LOL. I wonder if they changed anything in the interior to M/// stuff like the steering wheel or Vader seats?? And no fog lights?????

Or front grill slats? Hmph. Maybe an overhauled base model?

... just wanted to point out the euro lisence plate for a car that is being sold in UT... just... wondering if that was installed for looks, or if it was important? which i doubt they would import the base model M3 from 96. am i wrong?

I added the vin number to the VIN Number thread for Mallard to look up, that should shed some details for this unusual car.

Default I am well aware it is not a M car.

I have the genuine thing in my driveway (E34 M5)...I just thought it looked pretty nice. Did a Carfax, it has a dubious history and has at least twice the miles that are in the photo (86k). Overall not worth the hassle, I will find a nice CA car instead...or keep driving my M5 ;-)

Good luck in your search! There always seem to be nice tis popping up on the west coast, hopefully you'll find one of those.

Pics of the M5?
