Damn thing is a $9 piece of plastic that cost me a wad of $$$$ to fix since they have to take apart the intake manifold to get at it. My guess it's the same piece. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 05-18-2006, 01:51 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 45 | damn damn DAMN.. i hate to ask but how much did it cost u? | | | 05-18-2006, 02:02 AM | #7 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Quote: Originally Posted by eurowerkz damn damn DAMN.. i hate to ask but how much did it cost u? | Give me a minute and i'll track down the receit. Whatever you do good luck with it and hopefully you can get a local shop to do it for you. I only took it to a local shop cause it was reffered there and it was 10 bucks cheaper an hour in labor. I don't like the dealership anymore, they tried ripping me off and i didn't fall for it. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 05-18-2006, 03:15 AM | #13 | Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 45 | the dealership is just like the MAN trying to hold us down lol | | | 05-18-2006, 05:19 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Ever used UV tracing fluid? And almost every single time it has been the fault of the person driving. If your car is overheating, and you don't know why, stop immediately. Hell, even if you know why you should still stop. Running the car with the heater on can only take away a small amount of heat that the car is generating. It is no where near enough. A car that is overheating any amount should not be driven at all. Stop and have it towed. The 80$ is well worth it in the long run. Running a car any distance while it is overheating can destroy sensors, gaskets, and other plastic parts in the motor or engine compartment. Not to mention if you really let it overheat you can easily start to damage metal parts as well. If you car has overheated I would definitely recommend having an experienced BMW mechanic do a once over on the car. If you just try to replace the hose or whatever cheap part it was that broke and never look at the health of the rest of the engine you are going to end up with some really high maintenance bills, or no engine. These engines easily last 250-300k+ miles without a lot of work. But if you allow your car to overheat and continue to run it, you will never get close to the potential full life of the motor. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
