Good Morning Everybody...

Some of you guys answered to my thread about how I could clean my UGLY YELLOW PLASTIC lights.. (Thanks BTW)... but I really didn't like the idea about sanding them down.. I didn't want to mess them up and then have to replace them when I really didn't have the means for new lights... ANYWAY... Has anybody heard about RGS Labs, Inc. FW1 Cleaning Wax? My husband bought two spray cans from a stand at a gas station.. so last night I'm washing my car and I decided to spray it on my lights........ IT WORKED!!!... I sprayed, spreaded to a haze with a terry towel (which had yellow stuff on it after I swirled for a while ), buffed with a microfiber towel.... BAM!!.. CLEAR SHINY LIGHTS... just take a look:

This is what the can looks like.. you can use it on ANYTHING.. at least that's listed.. I waxed my whole car.. and super shiny.. .. It says it's "waterless".. but I washed my car first cause it was really dusting..

are you selling this stuff or what? I mean, I ALWAYS take a before pic of my headlight before I wash my car just in case a miracle happens.

LOL LOL LOL... No I'm not selling it.. I have never heard of this stuff.. and I thought it was really weird that my husband bought it off of a stand and not a real store ... I had been searching in lots of forums about how to clean my lights.. and they talked about that sanding, waxing, polishing with sand paper.. lots of waxing.. and lots of time.. which I don't have.. and I hated just seeing my Bimmer with those ugly lights... This is their website.. which I just searched for today... and also found somebody else talking about it at BimmerForums.com..

I'd be wary using it because it clearly (ha!) uses solvents.

However, it does seem to work.

I'm kinda new at the whole "taking care of your car" thing.. ... Is solvents a bad thing?

looks good. solvents can mean chemicals. like it may eat away the lense but it seemed to work.

and on the note of it being weird that she took a picture before she cleaned it. i do that sometimes when trying a new product or idea so if it becomes a sucess i can share it with others

I tried it on my right headlight first, and when I saw that it worked... I thought "oh man..I should've taken a picture of what it looked like before".. and then I looked to my left to see that my left headlight still looked ugly and yellow.. sooo... I took the pic.. First I took the pics to show my husband.. cause we were about to replace the lights this week.. then I decided to share it with you guys.. cause this thing with the yellow plastic on our headlights is a big aggravation.. unfortunately..

Solvents dissolve stuff. What it dissolves depends on the solvent and its concentration, but I'm always wary about using it near paint. By law, the back of the can has the active ingredient so if you can post it here that'd be great.

As for the before/after pictures, I did the exact same thing when I bought the polishing kit. It was in my gallery, but I'm not sure what happened to the pictures.

It's all good.. I'm a very skeptical person when it comes to "trying new things".. but I'm no sales person..

About the active ingredient, I can't remember, but when I get home it'll be the first thing I check. However, I did find on this website www.mstylecanada.com something about what is in this formula. The full name for the spray is FastWax1 Racing Formula supposedly used for show cars.

This is one of the things I found on there:

"Does FW1harm or scratch paint?
The answer is NO! FW1 is a combination of petroleum distillates and cleaning solvents formulated to surround, lubricate, emulsify and lift dirt or dust particles away from the surface of the vehicle. Add the durability of Carnauba Wax, and you will have a vehicle with the deep color and "wet look" that is the envy of the neighborhood."

"FW1 removes oxidation and restores faded paint. FW1 contains no silicones, teflons, or CFCs (chorofluorcarbons) which are harmful to the environment. FW1 is also clear coat and gel coat (i.e. boats) safe. "
