Have a body shop spray it and do the install yourself. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! Go around looking for paint on every car is what I did when someone hit my car and didn't tell me. I caught them. It was a maintenace guy in a golf cart. I made them pay for all the damage. That just sucks | | | 10-08-2010, 09:34 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Toronto, Canada Posts: 43 | nope no note...i took of the plastic guard that lets u gain access to the grill..and i banged out of some it..i was having trouble releasing the lever for the hood b.c of it. i managed to fix it a slight bit...defenitly better than what it was..now my grill clips in better also.. | | | 10-09-2010, 12:02 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | definitely fixable, good chance to get your eyelids painted too | | | 10-20-2010, 11:37 PM | #8 | Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Novi, MI Posts: 46 | The header panel is very inexpensive. Get the OEM one because it has been E-Coated and will prevent rusting. ECS has this. http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E36-318...h/41338225981/ tiFreak has a good point. I would take the header panel and your eyelids in at the same time to the body shop. They will have to order minimum amount of material to paint this part so there may be enough left over. The Header panel is easy to remove. Doesn't take too long. Mike R __________________ Mike R ~Hwy1Strat~ Novi, MI 1997 e36 BMW 318ti Style 44 Wheels "You can never own too many guitars!" I'm having a new windshield installed tomorrow. It's not cracked, but it's not clear. It took a few days, but I had no problem getting the windshield wiper cowl from Ottos' BMW. For such a well made vehicle, they sure did a lousy job with the cowl! My car was always garage kept, and all of the seals and gaskets are in great shape, but the cowl is TOTALLY dry rotted! | | | 10-21-2010, 02:25 AM | #10 | Member Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: Philadelphia Posts: 55 | BTW, xsalernox, I agree with BimmerBum...Looks like a relatively easy fix. It could have been a heck of a lot worse. | | | 10-21-2010, 05:49 AM | #11 | Member Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Columbia, MO Posts: 52 | It actually is a really easy fix. I need to replace mine because I've got a tiny bit of rust just below my passenger side headlight. Thankfully that's the only rust anywhere on the entire car. But an imperfection is just that... so I want to have it taken care of. You're very fortunate that was the only extent of the damage. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | Is this fixable?? | Platanos | Leather/Vinyl Care | 0 | 07-30-2005 09:23 AM | |
