Default 316i Engine type (not ti).

Hi all. I live in the UK and own a 1999 (E36) 316i compact (not ti), it has a 1.9cc engine, not 1.6cc. Does anyone know the engine code for this and if possible the correct part no. for K&N induction kit?
Many Thanx.

You must have read all the pros and cons by now of aftermarket filters. Consensus has it that a NON heatshielded filter is a bad idea.

Best options appear to be

Do nothing
Add an aftermarket air filter with cold air intake
Fog the air box (know as FOGGING the airbox, make a bigger hole for more air to get in complete with snorkel inlet)
Get a better filter for the standard airbox

Go to www.e36coupe.com in the UK if you already haven't (and that goes for the rest of you on here too plenty of ideas on getting more air in on the forum.
