Default what drive shaft do i need????

i've been searching since 10am, and cannot find an answer. i am trying to figure out what driveshaft i need?

the diff i will be using is a 3.15lsd from a z3 2.8. i'm still waiting for it to arrive. according to realoem, it looks like the diff is a 4 bolt.

i was thinking using a manual drive shaft from a e36 325. i found the 325 uses a getreg tranny, and is a 4 bolt. but would the length be right?

any help would be fantastic!

thanks,
john

edit: and if your wondering why i chose an 3.15 ratio, its because i will be swapping in a modified m52 when i finish building it.

You should be able to use your ti shaft until you decide to do the engine swap. And even then, if you keep your getrag tranny, you should still be able to use it. The only reason you'd need to use a different shaft would be if you switched to a ZF tranny(comes stock on 328's and M3's) which is about an inch and a half longer than the getrag and has a larger bolt pattern on the output flange and flex disc than the getrag. If you use a ZF tranny, you'll need to use a manual M3 or 328 front section with your stock ti rear section. As for the diff, as long as the diff you're using has a 4 bolt input flange, you'll be fine with your ti shaft. If it's a 6 bolt, you'll either need to swap the input flange or find a 6 bolt rear section off of a Z3 or Mcoupe. Hope that helps, best of luck!

Nice dude, torsion diffs are awesome! I was trying to put my 3.73 in this weekend but its not happening. As jesse said, the stock driveshaft should be fine, you should only need z3/e30 halfshafts and abs shims.

Plus 1. Use the stock drive shaft, ABS shims (I just found some washers and cut notches in them to fit), and new halfshaft.
