I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between the dakar edition and the standard edition. I know the interior is slightly different and the rear diffuser is colour coded, but apart from this, are there any minor or major differences? Apologies if this has already been answered previously! | | | 02-14-2006, 09:31 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | Dakar edition?? Ive never heard about that. The different ti packages Ive heard about are the base, active, sport, and club sport. I know that dakar yellow was a BMW color but that is all Ive heard about that. Mabye it is a Euro thing. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 02-14-2006, 09:55 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | basically a club sport apparently.... __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 02-14-2006, 11:02 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: UK Posts: 163 | I have a dakar edition which mine has the colour coded diffuser... but all the other dakar eds I have seen like mine have black diffuser... All were W reg I think in the UK... I thought that this was just a ti sport with loads of extras thrown on... ie Mtech stuff... mine was a demo model so mine had the boot spoiler added which the others don't too... __________________ BMW 318ti Sport Compact Dakar Edition TOTAL BMW Magazine - Project car #2 Mods: BB Throttle body * Gruppe-m induction * Engine re-map * AC type 3 Lightweight 17" alloys * Eisenmann exhaust 2 X 70mm pipes * Hand brake and Gear shift - Vitesse products * Black Grilles - De-Chromed! * Eibach Springs and dampers (30mm lower) * ACS S3 Dakar mirrors - Now on and looking mint! * Carbon Fibre M3 Lip * Carrying 318ti.org stickers * Coupe headlights with HIDs and Gen6 angel eyes | | | 02-14-2006, 11:05 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | how about a 318ti.org discount on total bmw magazine then Dak make it a group buy!! __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 02-15-2006, 01:37 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: London Posts: 120 | total bmw had a nice article on the m42/m44 engine last month. Afaik the clubsport was never available in the UK, but the dakar edition had the painted diffuser, all interior leather and mtec accessories all round. The reason I ask was that I was searching for one but the closest one was over 200 miles away, so I went out and bought a normal 318ti sport compact in what I think is a very becomming and unsual colour; Electric Violet! www.ubiquity.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/bimmer.jpg | | | 02-15-2006, 08:12 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: UK Posts: 163 | Stormos... Previous I had a Skoda Fabia, but a friend of mine with his e36 had no tread on his tires, went into the back of me and totalled the car : www.ubiquity.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/oops I liked the look of the m3 so much I did some research and deceided on the 318ti as my next car! I might even salvage the fog off the bumper for parts, as its pretty useless just lying in my garage. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
