What's the current status of interstae speed limits out there? Unlimited or just loose? __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 04-06-2005, 03:22 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 153 | Welcome to the community... __________________ 1998 318ti M-Sport - Jet Black w/Millpoint RedBlack interior Pics & Info here... | | | 04-06-2005, 04:20 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 290 | Are you tastade's brother? The speed limit is 75mph on Interstate and 55- 65mph on other paved roads. And traffic doesn't go much above those because there is no "safety in numbers" like in urban areas. | | | 04-06-2005, 05:08 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 290 | Well, welcome to the board. I think Wyoming is one of the best states in the Union for driving fast. Probably second only to Montana. Ever done the drive out to Hell's Half Acre or Independence Rock? Simply amazing. I was doing at least 90 whenever the road was straight enough. Check out the photo in my gallery from Sept '04. This is the stuff dreams are made of. http://www.318ti.org/gallery/showpho...cat=500&page=1 | | | 04-06-2005, 09:29 AM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Laramie, Wyoming Posts: 7 | I agree and I have been out there several times. South Dakota and Nevada also have some extremely Isolated roads in good condition for really moving along. Gotta watch for loose cattle, antelope, Elk, etc. | | | 04-06-2005, 09:36 AM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Laramie, Wyoming Posts: 7 | Those are some nice pictures, I see your car is just like mine. I have a little spoiler above the rear window or I would have to take a double take. I will post some pictures of my car when I can get it out and photograped. | | | 04-08-2005, 05:23 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 290 | Yep, gotta watch out for animals. Even the occasional jackrabbit made me nervous for my front bumper, it's so low. Hope to see your car around, online or in person. | | | 12-08-2006, 04:37 AM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: bay area califorina east bay Posts: 15 | I have a 95 clubsport with the red and black leather/cloth with m3 miras i just bought mine last week for $4,000 with 141k miles it is jet black I dont know if it has lsd my other 97 318ti active has traction control button on dash but my clubsport doesent have a button on dash but i love driving the 95 on corners it handles even better than my 97 so now i am going to sell my 97 318ti active. No LSD in '97, AFAIK. http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthrea...t=limited+slip Quote: Originally Posted by bullmand After late '95 early '96 the limited slip was no longer an option and the car was equipped with ASC+T(Automatic Stability Control + Traction, I think). This system is much less complicated and intrusive than I've heard DSC is. It uses the ABS sensors to monitor the rear wheels for slippage. It then uses the ABS system to brake the wheel that is slipping. If that's not working it uses a secondary throttle body in the intake to cut power. The only extra weight is that little throttle body and a handful of electronics. The good thing about ASC+T is that it can be turned off completely with a button on the dash. Other than not having an LSD, there is no drawback to having a car with this system. | | | | 12-08-2006, 06:40 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Va Posts: 256 | Quote: Originally Posted by mountainbimmer I am just getting used to the site, I recently aquired my brother's 1995 Clubsport 318TI in hellrot with the 5spd manual. . . | Congrats on keeping it in the family. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
