Default rasie money

so, i think the best way to keep growing as a site is to raise money.
now, altho i am not even connected to the admin of this site, i do find that dumping money into a site that has no benefit in return, can get old fast.

If anyone has a piratical way to help raise money to support this site, please list it here.

the only way i know of how to help get a little extra cash is to sell more stuff, *or at least stuff people want*

different sized decals for there car.
tee shirts

stuff like this that people would like.

we all understand that this stuff is expensive to invest in, and even more expensive if nothing sells, but i think if the design is well made on anything, the stuff will sell quickly.

*it will sell even more quickly if we , um, advertise our crap on other bmw fourms.. haha*

i figured this would be a nice spot to throw ideas out there to help raise money. the money might not be used just to support this site, but maybe to support get-together's, or even a little extra cash for the owner of the site to be a thank you . i am sure he lost a little extra cash here and there trying to keep the site open.

heck.. i will still donate, but i figured we could expaned from the calanders and posters. =] maybe car parts that break often? haha.. or even donations of the profit for used car parts that are sold on the site.

just an idea =]

That's a good idea right there. ^

Honestly, t-shirts don't sell that well. Even at the lowest possible teir, I only sold 5 shirts total. Hardly worth the time for the minimal profit. Only reason I did it was because I wanted to learn, and had nothing better to do when I wasn't working on the car.

One thing that worked pretty well on the last forum that I was on, was people selling graphics. Someone would request a certain graphic (for wallpaper, poster, signatures, avatars) and would post a picture, and also a price reward for who ever did the best. We could do the same, and the money could be split between the member and the board. The highest transaction that I saw was $500! I **** you not!

Is there a need for more money?
Between site supporters and google ads, there is enough to cover expenses.
The donation bar seems to be doing better than the site supporter subscription.
Since most people don't care that the ads are there, I'll leave them.
I look at them as content.

One thing I hope never to do is have paid sponsors.

As long as I'm not out of pocket, I'm happy.
