They ask you what the 2 series should look like. Then ask what the 4 series should look like. What would you say? What options would the 2 and 4 serious have that the others wouldn't? Would it be aimed towards racing, or would it be more for luxury? Maybe equal mix of both. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. Its time for a lightweight, stripped out street machine, much like the Lotus Elise. At one point i had hopes this is what the 1series would become.. | | | 03-05-2009, 12:18 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Farnborough, UK Posts: 64 | I agree, 2 series should be a Lotus competitior, dunno about 4 series though. Kinda thought they had most bases covered already Realistically I'd expect Electric/Hybrid/Hydrogen models as they may not want to interfer with more established lines too much. | | | 03-05-2009, 06:37 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | they should make an 9 series, make it longer and wider than the 7, and weigh twice as much, then they can try to make it into the ///M9 someone call Chris Bangle, we need him back! | | | 03-05-2009, 09:57 PM | #5 | Banned Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: LOS ANGELES Posts: 229 | bring back the 8 series. thats what they should do....!!!! | | | 03-05-2009, 11:08 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | I agree the 8 series needs to come back as long as it is done tastefully. I think BMW needs to bring back the M1 to fight the Audi R8 and just be a mid-engined sports car for the company. They don't have anything at the moment like that. I think that a 2 and 4 series would just dilute the brand, I like the current BMW lineup pretty much I just think they need some high end sports cars to take on the competition. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 03-06-2009, 03:03 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Sacramento Posts: 245 | +1 million on the 8 series. Ive been lusting after the 850ci for the last few weeks. But again, so long as its done tastefully.. I would hope it doesnt turn out like the current 6series.. | | | 03-06-2009, 08:06 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | The 2 series would be a LTW car intended for those who want to track/race. A supercharger would come standard. A lot of luxury would be lost. Like electric and heated seats, no spare tire, no switch for the headlights (they auto turn on). The 4 series would be a truck intended for those who want to haul stuff with class. Not heavy like the x6, and not to light either. I'm sure a lot of bmw fans would purchase one. I know Dave would probably get one. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. I think a stripped down, tuner ready 1 series would be appropriate. Just make it the 135tii. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 03-09-2009, 07:00 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Sacramento Posts: 245 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak I think something like that would be better as an option package for the 1-series or M3 instead of making a whole new model | Bring back the M3 LTW/CSL! | | | 03-09-2009, 09:20 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | Or better yet, have the 2 series be nothing but hatchbacks and stations. The initials for a station would be "BU", and for the hatch it would be "FU". But I still think the 4 should be devoted to trucks. Now a badass truck would be like e92 rear tail lights, while the front end would be a x6. And fenders should be rolled out rally style. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. I could've sworn there was a e81 130i. Or something like that. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36.
