Hi, Can any one tell me if a M44 head will fit on a M42 Block?

as I recall, M44 engines have a coolant fitting on the back of the head, M42s do not, I'm thinking the coolant passages inside must be different so it might not work

Yes they will. I currently have a M42 block with a M44 head on it so they do fit together. The coolant fitting is on the head.

It will fit is the simple answer. What you have to do to get it to fit is the real question. John has a fully built race motor. There very likely are other changes made to his head to have it all work properly.

Call MEtric Mechanic and ask any of the boys what are the differences. They will tell you exactly what what is different which is not much depending on the OBD system you plan on using and balancer.
