Idle problem / Possible alternator problem I know there is a lot of people here that have posted threads like this, but I would like to put in my version of the situation. A few months back, I had the same idle problem as every one else. Just as a disclaimer, not only have I had the ICV changed, but also the idler pulley changed because it made a whining noise when i rev the engine so the idling was fine at the time. However, a couple of months ago, my A/C was going bad, and locked itself in so I had to rev the engine so that it could burn off the belt so the car can run again. Also, I notice when I turn on the lights in the car, the idling is pretty bad, especially at night. The whining even came back again so I think the idler pulley must have gone bad again. Besides having to change the A/C compressor, belt and possibly the idler pulley, would I possibly have to have the alternator changed? |
