Did anybody check into the camshaft sensor? This might be the cause of the stalling and rough idle. | | | 05-01-2007, 02:34 AM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | I get ~30 city this season and ~35-36 highway. My 98 ti passed smogged, but my tech said that the cat wasn't running at its optimal. I wouldn't mind getting my cat replaced and get a couple extra mpg. EDIT: nevermind. found it. __________________ 318Ti Sport (Gone, but thanks for your years of service) | M3 E30 | 190E-16V | M Coupe E36/8 | | | 05-01-2007, 12:11 PM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Hawaii Posts: 124 | Care to link those docs on the 98 cat warranty? thanks | | | 05-03-2007, 08:53 AM | #23 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | Quote: Originally Posted by kelso thats way off...bad o2 sensor? have you gotten your computer checked? i had a shop run mine and had a bad o2, and bad knock sensors, never even knew it... | No, the o2 senor is fine. If they're the original parts, they're 12ish years old. They may still be working, but not as well as they should be. My understanding for testing these is that you have to take them off the car and hook them up to an oscilloscope. The M42 only has one sensor, right? It might be worth it to replace it anyway. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
