Lightbulb Forza 3/Grand Turismo 6 wishlist

What is your wishlist for Forza Motorsport 3, which is set to drop in 2009.

And the next GT as well.

My wishlist for Forza 3 is:
  • Ability to do engine swaps

    Customize interior

    Cockpit view

    More than 4 bodykit options

    Real life tuning.

Example 1= if you FI a car without doing other things like internals, than you're motor should not produce, and will not last.

Example 2 = boost controller and turbo timers added.

Anyways I read they were adding drag, and drift and some other racing types to Forza 3

Real life tuning would be pretty cool. They have that in rfactor. For instance, if you up the RPM limit on your motor and do not increase the radiator size as well, you can overheat the motor and blow it up. You also have to make sure that the radiator is sized appropriately for the length of the race, and the weather conditions.

You can also run the MOTEC data acquisition software that is the same MOTEC software you would use if you use a motec stand alone system. So you can actually tune the engine mappings just like in a real car, or do data acquisition just like a real race car.

Landin from Turn10 made a thread over on VWvortex asking what the people wanted to see in F3. Here's what I posted.

- Paint stock wheels
- More engine swap choices, people put LSx engines in everything these days, etc.
- Changing weather (physics change accordingly)
- Night races
- More euro cars...
- Ability to put widebody kits on cars
- Old racing series cars (IMSA GT cars like Porsche 935, BMW M1...)

It's really cool to see Turn 10 taking an interest in what their customers want.
I was gifted the 1st anniversary challenge stradale and the U999 350z for my input.

Engine swaps are in forza 2. I guess you want it to be more of a NFS game, interior isn't really important in a race car, neither are body kits besides the full downforce kits. Turbo timers? The cars never get shut off.

I didn't know you could swap motors in Forza. How do you? I was just throwing out a bunch of stuff to make it as real as it can be. No I don't want it to be NFS style. No one wants the same ol boring interior. Let us gut out the stuff, and be able to see it with the cockpit view. or let us put racing seats in there and roll cages, or sparco steering wheels or w/e. It would be fun to see more body kits, than just 4 choices per car.

Oh yeah, and I'm not liking how you can't FI the M3s

In the upgrade menu, the engine upgrades, its the farthest option to the right. BMWs can not swap engines but lots of other makes can.

(A really cool one is with the MkV GTI, before F2 came out, VW had an R36 concept. Basically it was an R32 with a 3.6L motor making 280hp. Well they axed the concept and instead brought a MkV R32. The forza programmers gave the MkV GTI a 3.6L AWD engine swap option. Very cool.)

But yeah, BMWs are severely limited in the game because BMW won't give out licenses for the cars. To get BMWs in a video game the developers have to go through BMW motorsport. That is why you don't see any "normal" / non-m BMWs in the game. Also, they have to use BMW factory body kits and no FI. Sucks.

Yeah, it would be cool to put specific racing seats in the cars as well as steering wheels and such. Also, be able to paint the rollcage.

Well, You can get some of the "normal" BMW's in Gran Turismo 4. Granted, the selection is very limited. I have been holding out on a PS3 to see how GT5 is going to be. I am in love with the GT series.

Hey the only thing the PS3 is good for is blue ray.... better off getting a PS3 a a blue ray player since you can actually play games on it... other than that people who have spent the money on it call it the $500 paper weight...lol Not that many games have been developed for it yet, and the ones that have suck....

Engine swaps in Forza 2 are limited within manufacturers... you can only swap within the same brand. BMW has had very strict rules regarding their vehicles on games, why are you able to do it on some PC simulator, and not on a console sim, might have to do with simple licensing or MONEY!... I do know that lots of manufacturers don't want to have their cars look vulnerable to damage or whatever, so they restrict the amount of damage a car can show on these games as well. Especially if the word simulator is in there... I don't think they mind when it is on an Arcade game series like NFS...even then those hardly show any damage....

well, NSF Prostreet lets you deal a sh!tload of damage to cars, to the point where wheels and body panels are seperating, and they have an E46 M3 in it, I think Forza would benefit from a more realistic damage system where cars can be disabled, and GT would benefit from any damage system at all

Eh, I played the prologue on my friends PS3, it was fun but it doesn't compare to Forza in my mind. I just like the "feel" of Forza more plus I don't have a PS3 or the money for one right now.
